There are many aspects we need to look into when when talk about self-care.
Firstly, it is important to acknowledge our limitations. Well, nobody can pour from an empty cup. When you are drained, you just need to get yourself full again. Just like a handphone without battery, charge it!
Let’s talk about physical self-care, how many of us are actually getting sufficient sleep? Exercising 3-4 days a week? Or having healthy meals? On the other hand, many binge for the temporal ‘awesome’ feeling due to the release of dopamine which eventually brings them guilt and shame on their eating behaviours.
I am currently working on a training manual focusing on self-care. In the hope that after training, learners will become healthy in body, mind and spirit.
I am beginning mine by nourishing my body and mind with the right foods. And yes, I do feel the difference by just adjusting my dietary habits. I will share more, stay tune!
